On Friday I spoke with Gerald Neher the MD at Vienna-based ComFin, providers of the BullDog ETRM software package. Late in 2010 we learned that the previous MD had left abruptly due to illness and that the company was losing staff. Mr. Neher told us that indeed the change in management had been disruptive causing a degree of uncertainty and some staff had left but the company was now moving forward on a variety of initiatives and was hiring again with plans to bring on 3 additional staff in the first quarter of 2011. The company still has around 20 clients for its BullDog software.

This morning I spoke to Peter Waiss, Managing Director of ComFin. ComFin offers software solutions and consulting services to the commodity and energy industries. It’s TheBulldog software is a package that supports trading, trade administration, operations, risk management, back office, finance, storage, logistics, and reporting and is used by companies in the crude oil, chemical, petrochemical, soft commodity, shipping, and refined product industries and covers all physical transactions and paper instruments.

Yesterday I had an opportunity to speak with Peter Wais, Managing Director of ComFin. ComFin are located in Vienna – not so far away from myself here in Brno. The company was started 10-years ago and developed a paper trading TRM solution that has subsequently been expanded to cover physical trading as well for crude oil, chemicals, petrochemicals and shipping which is known as The BullDog.
