Oil prices are at their lowest in 10-months and falling with Brent headed below $100/bbl. Oil stocks are also taking a battering as markets free fall yesterday and today. In fact, all energy commodities prices are down but some agricultural commodities are showing gains and Gold prices continue to climb. Across the broader commodities complex then its a mixed bag. Meanwhile, Chinese inflation hit 6.5% above the limit set by Beijing.

I found an interesting article on Manav Garv, CEO of EKA, today. Its in The Economic Times of India and it suggests that EKA now have 220 employees and a 2010/11 turnover of around $10 million (if I understood the concept of a ‘crore’ correctly). Interesting reading.

iRely is a provider of software for the “physical commodity ecosystem serving organizations that handle origination, trading, manufacturing and distribution of commodities.” Currently, iRely specializes in soft commodities delivering trading & risk management (iTrade) and ERP and other solutions along the supply chain. ComTech Solutions is a privately-owned corporation headquartered in Houston, Texas with a full suite of business management applications including an accounting and ERP solution.

Although the acquisition has not yet been formally announced, the ComTech website now says “an iRely Company” and we expect to obtain more details soon.
